10.24.06 | SageNet Earns Taco Bueno Contract
Information technology provider SageNet will continue to deliver voice and data management services for quick-service Mexican restaurant chain Taco Bueno over the next three years under terms of a contract that was recently renewed, Sage Net has announced.
The agreement extends a collaboration between the two companies that began in 2003, when SageNet originally designed and deployed a Wide Area Network (WAN) for the Texas-based restaurant chain. In addition to providing a communications link between individual restaurants and the chain’s corporate headquarters, the high-speed, private Internet Protocol (IP)-based network has also become the backbone of Taco Bueno’s cutting-edge point-of-sale and electronic transaction processing system.
“The IP network has generated significant benefits for Taco Bueno, including improved speed of service, maximized sales volumes and reduced credit-card processing fees,” said Jay Reed, Vice President of IT for Taco Bueno. “We are very pleased to continue our relationship with SageNet.”
SageNet helped Taco Bueno leverage its network for increased efficiency by replacing the original dial-up card-processing terminals located in each restaurant with high-speed, Internet-based terminals from VeriFone. Eliminating the time-consuming dial-up process has allowed Taco Bueno to trim transaction times to as little as three seconds, ensuring that customers are served quickly — particularly during peak lunch hours.
Under terms of the management contract, SageNet will provide all products and services required for a full managed private network. Proactive monitoring and help desk services will ensure that each restaurant has full access to corporate systems, and provide support for credit-, debit- and gift-card processing. “We’re proud of the fact that we’ve been able to provide Taco Bueno with a turnkey solution, not just for their data and voice network but for their in-store technology as well,” said Dale Higganbotham, Vice President of Sales for SageNet. “Some providers understand payment processing systems and others understand IP networking, but nobody has a better understanding how the two technologies intersect than SageNet.”
