GRAPEVINE, Texas, May 19, 2009 – SageNet’s WAN managed services were prominently featured today at NACStech 2009 during a workshop on “IP-Enabling Your Store.”
The workshop focused on two companies’ different approaches to IP-enablement. One of the companies, The Pantry, Inc., took the managed services approach for broadband connectivity to its 1700 locations in the Southeast. SageNet, in a teaming partnership with AT&T, is providing WAN managed services for the design, deployment and management of The Pantry’s WAN.
According to The Pantry’s workshop presentation, “The WAN has become a valuable corporate asset which represents more than the cost of doing business. It can enable you to manage and respond to information more effectively.”
SageNet’s ongoing help desk support is noted as “a key driver” in the WAN project. At the height of the deployment phase, SageNet converted 80 Pantry sites per month.
The presentation specifies several key ROI-based benefits the WAN is providing The Pantry:
- Transaction times are reduced by 75%
- The WAN has enabled a major new POS project
- The customer experience has improved via shorter wait times and fewer failed transactions
- Credit card fees are reduced
- Multiple phone lines have been eliminated per site
- Overall operating costs have been reduced
- Overall in-store efficiency has been improved
